Our Founder, Sal Khan (All and Any Pronouns) is an openly queer migrant rights activist, former journalist from Pakistan, and the founder of OUTnewcomers, a grassroots and volunteer run organization based in the Greater Boston Area. Drawing from lived experience navigating displacement, detention, and the U.S. immigration system, their work centers on supporting LGBTQ+ migrants through community-led advocacy, resource navigation, and collective care. Through OUTnewcomers, their work is to build pathways to legal support, housing stability, and community care for some of the most marginalized members of the LGBTQ+ and immigrant community.
